Idaho Office of Highway SafetySHIFT

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. To help improve safety on our roads, the Idaho legislature passed a law last year banning the use of handheld electronic devices while driving - even while temporarily stopped at a traffic signal or stop sign. Officers spent the second half 2020 educating drivers about the new law and in January 2021 they began issuing citations.

Inattentive driving is an illegal and dangerous behavior and it has no place on our roads. Our officers are out doing their part to end distracted driving involved crashes, we hope the public does their part too by choosing to put away distractions and to drive engaged.

Joining Forces

Joining Forces is a group of service organizations, community groups and law enforcement that have come together to provide support and resources for Veterans. Joining Forces Magic Valley was formed to develop a better understanding of the services available in the Magic Valley for military veterans and their families and be a source to help the veteran find that needed service.

Joining Forces Magic Valley also provides a forum for the partners to learn what services each has to offer and develop a bond to serve the veterans of our community. If you have any questions visit the Magic Valley website.

COVID-19 Resources

We have had a number of calls regarding the enforcement of Governor Brad Little’s order to Self Isolate. In an effort to clarify some of the doubts people may be experiencing, we wanted to offer a link to those frequently asked questions. In addition, we have included the link to the official Government website where you will be able to access many valuable resources pertaining to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The better informed we are, the better we can protect ourselves and others.
