What are the rules for having my branches chipped?

The rules for having your branches chipped are:

  • Removed trees measuring more than six inches in diameter at the base of the tree will not be accepted for chipping.
  • Limbs and brush more than three inches in diameter will not be accepted for chipping.
  • Tree removed by a contractor will not be accepted for chipping.
  • Limbs from removed trees must be placed with butt ends to the street or alley and within six feet of the street or alley to be accessible to the city crews. All branches must be piled in one area.
  • City crews will chip branches or tree limbs as work loads permit and subject to availability of appropriate equipment.
